Create a Holiday Ready Home

Peace Ya'll New Orleans Christmas

Create a Holiday Ready Home

The temperature has dropped (slightly) and the Holidays are upon us! We wanted to take this opportunity to offer some inspiration to get your home ready for the season!

A simple, yet festive way to create a Holiday look is by adding ornaments or colorful bulbs to your outdoor planters. Simply drop a few into your existing potted plants and your home will suddenly look Holiday ready.

Urn topper

Top an urn with ornaments to instantly update your porch for the Holidays.

Of course, at Exterior Designs, we love the idea of incorporating fresh greenery into your decor. Some of the best front door designs we have seen stick with a theme. Whether you go with a playful look and incorporate colorful bulbs with Christmas characters, or a more elegant theme using fresh greenery and white twinkle lights is totally up to you. Choose a theme special to you and your family and run with it! This is a great weekend project for the entire family to help with.

Holiday Door

Decorate your porch and front door for Christmas, welcoming your guests into your holiday home.

Hang mistletoe above or even on the door. It is a tradition for couples who meet under the mistletoe to kiss. Mistletoe is still hung up in farm-houses and kitchens during the Holidays, and the young men have the privilege of kissing the girls under it, plucking a berry from the bush each time. When the berries are all plucked, the privilege ceases.
